Benedikt Sauter
Professional experience
In 2008, Benedikt Sauter and his wife Claudia launched an online hardware shop. Even back then, he saw how decisive efficient processes are for the success of a small business. When no existing ERP could keep up with their growing requirements, he simply built one himself. That was the origin of Xentral.
That hands-on experience gave Benedikt a deep understanding of the daily challenges small and mid-sized businesses face. It still shapes his work today. He combines technical know-how, years of entrepreneurial experience, and a close connection to customers, a mix that makes him a recognized voice in the ERP space.
Education
Benedikt studied computer science at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and was honored with the Gründergeist (Entrepreneurial Spirit) Award. He took an early interest in databases and software development. The practical approach he built through both academia and entrepreneurship still drives his hands-on mentality today.
Role at Xentral
As Co-CEO, Benedikt leads product strategy and engineering. With a deep grasp of what customers actually need, he focuses on solutions that radically simplify the day-to-day for SMBs. Under his leadership, Xentral has grown from a small startup into an internationally expanding tech company. His background as a founder and developer makes him a strong sparring partner for both teams and customers.
Personal life
Benedikt is married and lives with his family in Bavaria. Outside of his role at Xentral, he stays close to tech, tinkers with software and process ideas, and is known as a down-to-earth founder who'd rather roll up his sleeves than put on a show.
